IR Obstacle Sensor

An IR obstacle sensor uses an infrared (IR) transmitter and receiver to detect objects by emitting IR light and detecting when it reflects back. When an obstacle is detected, the sensor’s onboard comparator circuitry processes the signal and outputs a digital signal, often a low-level signal, while an indicator LED on the module may also light up. The detection distance can be adjusted with an onboard potentiometer, and the sensor operates at voltages between 3.3V and 5V.
